Wet Weekend Racing

Round 2 of the BRCA 1/10th off road championship was run at the popular Kidderminster venue over the weekend and saw Neil Cragg return to his usual place at the top.

Neil powered his RC10B4 to the overall TQ with fastest time in rounds 1 & 2, he was followed by Tiverton winner Darren Bloomfield and Tom Yardy (B4). Neil and Tom were joined in the main final by 5 other B4 drivers, Paul Bradby, Lee Martin, Chris Doughty, Simon Moss and Keith Robertson. After some tough racing with Darren and Tom, Neil managed to impose his authority in leg 1 and in the end ran out a comfortable winner. Leg 2 saw a similar battle in which Darren pressured very hard, maybe a little too hard at times, but again Neil managed to come out on top and take the overall win. Neil was pleased to get his 2wd season back on track after a Tiverton meeting where he found it difficult to explain his relative lack of pace. The pit tent The weather forecast for the 4wd event on sunday was poor to say the least, and sure enough the rain came in copious amounts. The race was started and the first 2 rounds of qualifying were completed in torrential conditions. This enabled the race to be declared as a result and saw Lee Martin come out on top with his Novak Brushless powered Aero car. Neil Cragg and Paul Bradby were placed inside the top 10 with their Yokomo cars but with the conditions as they were, the results were not really a true representation.
