TORC Rd 12 Ashby 24th Sept

After the 1st Round which a lot of people, chose not to run in, the track was dry for the remaining rounds. In round 3, CML Driver Andrew Robson took FTD in the 19t Class only missing out on the track record by just under a second, Chris Clark had changed classes for this event and took FTD in Stock. The Sun was at full strength for the Finals and in the A final Stock Chris Clark was dicing with Simon Smith all the way through, and in the 19t A Final Andrew Robson led from his pole position for the whole of the race. In the second round of Finals, the A stock had a few leader changes, Chris lost it at one point to Simon Smith, only to regain it and then on the last lap Chris made a small mistake allowing Simon through again. However on the last Chicane Simon entered it a bit too fast and drifted wide allowing both Chris and 3rd place man Brian Shardlow through thus giving Chris his 2nd win. The 19t A Final turned out to be similar event. Andrew had to fend off a chasing Dominic Carter. Both of these drivers drove their socks off and it was one of those finals where everyone appreciated the talents both guys. It went right down to the line and on the last bend both drivers went across the line together, the split being Andrew on 304.72 and Dominic 304.74, this gave Andrew his second win and Maximum points for Rd 12. Last round of the Series is on the 8th October at Bedworth.
