Andy had an awesome weekend at Nene Valley with his Team Associated RC8B3.1 – The car was going well and he put in some good qualifying times on Sunday which would see him line up 8th on the grid in B final, Andy went on to finish in 9th putting in 25 laps in 20.665 min

Monday didn’t start as well as expected, Andy made a few changes to car and changed tyres, but could not match his pace from Saturday and went on to qualify 1st in D final where he finished 2nd and bumped up in to the C Final, The Team Associated RC8B3.1 was spot on again.

For Steve Milne the bumpy track meant finding a good setup would be a challenge. Steve was finding it difficult to find something he was comfortable with until Matt Lewis (Team AE) suggested changing the position of the caster clips which really made a difference to the car’s balance Steve managed to qualify well enough for the C Final, however a crash at the second corner due to an error would put him to the back of the field and playing catch up for the rest of the race.

Onto monday and Steve made changes after each qualifying round which improved the feel of his RC8B3.1 and would also see his lap times improve. Again Steve qualified for the C Final, unfortunately he was hit from behind on lap 1 which left him with a bent shock shaft. Steve persevered until the first round of fuel stops but the bent shaft was taking it toile on handling and lap times and he eventually retired.

Matt Cunnington had a good weekend at Nene Valley with his Team Associated RC8B3.1
Sunday didn’t go quite to plan after a few issues with the bumpy track but he still qualified into the C final and finished up 8th.

Monday turned out to be a much better day for Matt after getting to grips with the bumpy track.
The Team Associated RC8B3.1 was on rails after a few setup changes and after some good qualifiers it would see Matt qualify 7th in the B final.

Matt went heavier on shock oil and made a change to the ride height which transformed the car and smoothed out the very bumpy track. Matt ran 35W front and 30W Rear with a ride height of 24mm front and 25mm rear.

The start of the final didn’t go to plan but Matt managed a good drive and up and finished up 7th, holding onto his qualifying position after the hectic start.

The next rounds of the 2018 Nitro-X series will be held at Pembrey, where the RC Motorsport team will be out in force again!
