Team Magic win the Euro's
The On-Road European championships for 200mm nitro touring cars was held last week at the excellent Heemestede venue in Holland.
Team Magic drivers Darren Johnson, Stephen Lander and Dario Balestri from Italy went to the event confident of good results with their Team magic G4S cars.
Kitted out with the latest new components they made the journey to Holland confident of a shot at the title despite the race being held in the Serpents back yard.
Although the Team Magic lads never got a consistance ultimate run toghter in the qualifying they had the knowledge to steel a march on their rivals in the super competitive finals. Torrinatal rain affected most of the running and Stephen Lander was progressing at pace until a unfortunate radio issue stop his charge and elimated him from the main final, though both Darren and Dario excelled in their performances in the semi's to take the grid in what was to be a thrilling final race.
Drivers arriving on the grid had to contend with the knowledge that due to rain delays the final had been shorted by 15 minutes to a 30 minute run and made that ultimate speed all important, though it proved to be a excellent final for the Team Magic guys with Dario romping home 6 seconds clear of Mark Green with Darren bringing his Jaco Nitro Shoes Shod G4S home in 3rd.
Team Magics G4S has now won both the UK and the European Title in what is turning out to me an amazing season for the team.
