TC5 wins at Rug Racers

Olly Jefferies scored a surprise win from third on the grid at round 3 of the Muchmore Rug Racers series at Woodson Park.

A small but quality field of national modified runners turned up for round 3 of the Muchmore Rug Racers series. Representing CML was Associated?s Olly Jefferies and in the early rounds of qualifying Olly seemed to struggle to get a good set up on his TC5. Olly held second place behind Chris Grainger in the first two rounds but in the final round of qualifying Olly had problems and did not start the final run. Elliott Harper went on to take FTD ahead of Chris with Olly lining up third for the three leg finals. Olly's Team Associated TC5. Leg one of the A final fell to Chris with Olly finding a better set up and managing to chase Chris over the line to take second. Olly made the most of a coming together between Elliott and Chris in the second leg to sneak through and take the win, in the last final Elliott got a clean run and led from start to finish but another strong second place for Olly was enough to give him the overall victory. Olly tops the podium again! ?I really struggled with my set up for some reason, maybe I needed more running on the control tyre, this left me struggling with a car that was not easy to drive compared with the two cars ahead of me, but sometimes some of the best race wins are the ones when you feel you are slightly on the back foot and this was the case at Rug Racers? said Olly. This weekend Olly swaps his TC5 for his Associated R5 as he contests the next round of the BRCA 1:12 nationals at Tamworth.
