Stoke Winter Series - Rnd 6

Round 6 of the SNRC Winter Series took place last weekend in Stoke On Trent where RB engines ruled the event.

Qualifying started on a damp track with 5 seconds separating the top 3 drivers, Elliot Taylor (RB), Dave Blakley and Joe Adams (Hobao/RB). Rd 2 saw Lloyd Pitt (Hobao/RB) put in an impressive run to take TQ. Rd 3 saw John Howells (Hobao/RB) put in a blistering run of 7 laps 306.95 to take TQ with Scott Francis jumping up to 2nd. By the time Rd 4 came around the track seemed to be drying up a little which saw Joe Adams Jump back to 3rd. Onto the buggy ?A? final and the pole man John Howells had an awful start which allowed Joe Adams and Elliot Taylor to take an early lead. Joe and Elliot were pulling away from the field, and it was on lap 3 when Elliot made his move for the lead. He then put in a string of very fast laps to pull out a lead from Joe. In the later stages John Howells had recovered to catch and pass Joe to take 2nd place. It was on the last lap John decided to not interfere with the championship and allow Joe to re-take 2nd spot. Notably 3 of the top 5 cars were Hobao hyper 9?s and 4 of the top 5 cars were using RB Engines. Well done to Elliot Taylor who drove an excellent race. The truggy final was won by Adrian Dean with CML's own pocket sized Iain McCallum in second and Stewart Quinn in third. Series leader Mitchell Booth came in a respectable fourth. A big thank you to Stoke Nitro?s team for hosting a great meeting. Round 7 takes place Sunday 28th February.
