RPM Take class honours on first 24 hour attempt

After a gruelling 24 hours of racing on the Silverstone Grandprix Circuit, the RPM team took home a 3rd place finish in the GT3 class of the Britcar 24 Hour in their maiden attempt. First place in the class was taken by the Duller Motorsport Factory Redbull BMW Z4 and 2nd place another GT3 Porsche piloted by 2003 Carrera Cup Champion Barry Horne and Marino Franchitti brother of American Indy Car star Dario.

The team were delighted with the result having been through a testing 24 hours in which they picked up 2 punctures had 2 joints in the cooling system brake and had a drive shaft fail which destroyed a 3rd tyre as well as taking with it the rear suspension upright and ABS sensors meaning the car had to race for the last 8 hours without its ABS system. Finally with just minutes to go the gear linkage failed but a quick fix saw the team manage to get the car running once more so it could finish the race. Massive thanks go out to all the mechanics, Jason, Paul, Richard, John, Angus and Dave who worked so hard allowing the team to get the result it deserved even under the hardest of conditions. Secondly congratulations to all of the drivers, Clint, Peter, Chris, Matt and Alex 4 of whom were in their first 24 hour race, who all drove excellent stints managing to navigate their way through the slower traffic without any contact allowing the result to happen.
