RPM Ford takes the British GT win

The RPM Motorsport Ford GT took its first win of the season in treacherous conditions at Donington Park.

The driver pairing of Philip Walker and Alex Mortimer conquered the terrible weather to take a well deserved victory. After some fast times in the test sessions earlier in the weekend the pair were confident of a good result and this looked on the cards as Philip drove an excellent first stint to be well in contention with the leaders. An inspired call to bring the car in for its mandatory fuel and driver stop just as the pace car came out, saw Alex emerge with a big lead that he was able to maintain to the flag. This was Alex's first drive of the season in his own car, as the regular driver had been replaced due to poor form. Alex drove well within himself and the car to ensure that the car saw the chequered flag first, despite a charge from Matt Griffin in the Ferrari F430 Scuderia. The pair now move onto Silverstone in August hoping to repeat this great performance. Congratulations to Philip, Alex and all the RPM crew on a great victory from all at CML.
