Reedy M3 Wins Debut National - 1/12

The first round of the 2015/16 1/12 Circuit season kicked off in Tonbridge over the weekend, with Reedy's new M3 motor taking all the glory.

The West Kent club laid a fantastic track, and with new white track marking the venue looked excellent -  setting the scene for a great weekends racing.

With the new Reedy M3 motor receiving approval from the BRCA for use from this first race, it was an excellent opportunity for Reedy drivers to run the motor for the first time and discover the improvements made.

Saturday 10.5 class saw Factory Reedy Driver Mark Stiles, CML Driver Tim Wood and Jim Spencer all plant their cars firmly in the Main A final.  Mark had a great race and was close to spraying the champagne but not quite - 2nd overall great effort.  Tim qualified 9th using his old Reedy motor, but installed the M3 for the final. Reporting it to be smoother and with more straight-line performance, Tim improved to 7th.

Come Sunday, everything got more serious! Team Reedy were in full flight with Mark, Tim, Matt Rice and Nigel Hale all now running the new M3 motors and performing well.

Overall Results:-

  • Sport 10.5 - TQ and Win in the A for Tim - (Jim Spencer stormed home 2nd to prove the old Reedy is still no slouch!)
  • Sport 10.5 - Third in the B for Nigel
  • Modified - Win in the B for Matt Rice
  • Modified - 2nd in the A for Mark Stiles

So, a great M3 debut win for Tim, fantastic drive by Mark to almost snatch victory, cool win for Matt, and smooth ride to 3rd for Nigel.

The above saw Team Reedy take the overall Team Win all using the new M3s - Chocolate Time!

Great Work Guys - Roll on Round 2 at Crewe
