RB clean up at Stoke Winter Series

Stoke Nitro Racing Club put on another great meet for round 7 of the Nireo Winter Series. RB once again proved to be the strongest engine available.

The Buggy A final was shaping up to be a good battle between two young talented drivers, With Elliot Taylor (RB) TQ and Joe Adams (HoBao/ RB) in 2nd place on the grid followed by Mick Butler in 3rd. It was Elliot who got the cleaner start as Joe was pushed wide into the first corner and dropped to 4th. A couple of corners later Joe was back to 2nd and 3 seconds back from Elliot. As the first round of fuel stops came Elliot had a 7 second lead and both he and Joe had opened a large gap to the rest of the field. It was just after Joe?s first stop when a backmarker mistakenly rejoined the track in the path of Joe?s flat out Hyper 9 which caused a high speed crash what would have ended most other cars race, however, the only damage was an unseated rear spring, causing it to pull violently left under acceleration. Luckily a couple of laps later the spring re-seated itself allowing Joe to push on. By this time Elliot had opened a 22 second lead! Elliot just had to bring the car home for the win from Joe in 2nd and Dennis Holding in 3rd. The top 3 cars were all using RB engines. The truggy A final saw pole man Adrian Dean take an early lead and look like he was going to run away with it until a problem occurred with the front of his car which allowed Carl Dixon through to take the win from Mitchell Booth with Sean Bailey in 3rd. Well done and thanks to all at Stoke-Nitro for hosting a great meeting yet again.
