Jon Howells Dudley RCC Winter Series Round 1

Sunday October 18th saw the return of the famous Dudley RCC Winter Series this time round catering for multiple classes of racing!

Sunday October 18th 2015 saw the return of the famous Dudley RCC Winter Series. Some of you old school racers will remember the fun from the good old days when it was just 1/10 buggys indoors, this time round it is multiple classes

With 60 drivers attending the meeting the Dudley club were catering for a mixture of classes including 1/16th Micros, Touring Cars, Formula One, GT12 and 1/10th Buggy’s.

The track was laid out so the tricky slippy areas and the off road features could be bypassed for the on-road cars.

The Micro class would see quite a few drivers pushing hard to make the main top 10 and was the most popular class.

After 4 rounds of qualifying Team CML would take 4 of the top 10 spots, with a couple of the 1/8th Team making an appearance!

The finals for all classes would be 2 legs and be hotly contested as there would be a nice framed certificate and more importantly chocolate for the top 3 in each class.

"Sunday November 22nd and Sunday December 13th round will see Iconic RC gathering some vintage racing enthusiasts for 2WD and 4WD Vintage buggy heats at the Dudley RCC Winter Series.

This is in support of vintage racing Icon, Brett Davis (who also drove Brum!). Brett's ill health is getting the better of him at the moment so Dudley and the RC community want to give him an awesome nostalgic racing day to remember."

The meeting will be open rules except for no mini pin tyre and the vintage 1:10th buggies must be manufactured no later than 1998. RC Racer Magazine will be covering the November 22nd race day which will also feature 1/10th Buggy, Touring Cars, F1, GT12 and Micro classes.

See you there for the next round.
