Great start for Yokomo in Super-Stock

CML driver Keith Robertson gets back in to the groove with a terrific performance in the first round of the BRCA 19t.

Round 1 of the 19t BRCA championship took place at Snetterton in Norfolk, and after a days practice getting back into the swing of touring car racing CML / Microtech Racing driver Keith Robertson took pole position after the first round of qualifying, his 'Grainger' Yokomo BD handling impeccably. Round two saw no improvement but a 'shoot out' in the third and final round saw Chris Kerswell just pip Keith to TQ after a trip across the curbs for Keith. Fellow CML driver and reigning 19t champion Anthony Potter clinched a fine 5th place on the grid with his Associated FT TC4 after being unable to attend the practice day. In leg one of the A final Keith got collected at the first corner and had to stop to have a marshal un-tuck his bodyshell, but he quickly got back on the case with Checkpoint and SMC power helping him get back up to third place by the end of the race - setting fastest lap along the way. For leg two a driving error saw Keith drop to fifth place on the first lap, but again he dug deep and fought through the field as cars ran nose to tail ? only inches apart around the fast Snetterton track. With the five minutes up Keith came across the line in second place, running out of time to catch the leader, giving him second overall for the meeting. Anthony unfortunately had interference issues during the finals and finished lower down. Next stop for the 19t drivers is West London Race Centre in a few weeks.
