Grainger Cleans Up

Grainger Cleans Up

Round 3 of the modified class BRCA Nationals took place at Halifax in mixed conditions.

Chris Grainger powered his Yokomo MR4BD to a confident and and dominant TQ in round 3 of qualifying. The first 2 rounds had been treading water until the track was at its best in round 3. With all the main players going for it in round 3 they were all aware they had to perform in the final round. Chris really put the hammer down to take TQ by about 3.5 seconds. Craig Drescher managed to take 2nd overall with his Novak powered TC5 in front of world champion Andy Moore and Olly Jeffries. The first final was another stroll in the park for Grainger and his Yokomo with Craig chasing hard in second. For the second final Craig managed to mount a stronger challenge to Chris and had very close fight for the 5 minutes. Craig did have one opportunity to make the move but by his own admission was not aggressive enough when the moment arose. Both these divers had chosen Protoform's Mazda 6 bodyshell for this high speed circuit. This result leaves Chris in a strong championship position as he chases his hat-trick of titles. The series moves on to Snetterton in 2 weeks time.
