Fastrax Summer Series - Round 2

Fastrax Summer Series - Round 2

The second round of the CMl sponsored Fastrax Summer Series took place at the Stoke Nitro Racing Club over the weekend.

1/8th Buggy Class Richard Taylor qualifies first after taking TQ in every round with his Reedy powered Losi 2.0. Mark Redmond had a good last round qualifier to take second on the grid with Ian Hancock in third. At the start of the race Mark got away best avoiding a first corner pile up resulting in a early retirement for Richard. Mark led the fifteen minute final for thirteen happy minutes until the RB C6 powered Stuart Mahon caught him and passed him due to a rare Redmond error. On the very next lap it was Stuart's turn to upturn his car and Mark went on to win the "A" main by just twenty seconds. Dennis Holding finished a credible third one lap down. Mark was using a Byron powered RB C6 engine as was Stuart with third placed Dennis also on the fuel to have...Byron Winners in the buggy class. 1/8th Truggy Class Carl Dixon was top qualifier in the truggy class with Sham Choudhry second and Stewart Quinn third. The final was a good clean start with Stewart getting a very good start and going straight into the lead, followed by forth qualifier Mick Butler with fifth placed Ashlee Owen moving up to third. After nine laps a mixture of radio problems and a coming together saw both Stewart and Ashlee retire from the race with the lead mantle taken up by Mick Butler with Sham chasing him down hard. These two swapped the lead several times in the last four minutes with Sham just ducking under the loop for an extra lap with Mick missing out on a final lap fling by seconds. After a poor start top qualifier Carl moved to third on lap seven and stayed there for the remainder of the final. Sham was driving the Associated RC8T and was on Byron Gen2 Fuel. Winners in the truggy class.
