Cragg wins 1/8th Championship

CML and Team Associated driver Neil Cragg secures his second consecutive BRCA 1/8th Off-Road Rallycross title after a great win at Pendle.

After a dissapointing outing at the World Championships earlier this month Neil was on top form in round 6 of the 1/8th Nationals held at the Pendle & District Model Car Club in Burnley. Rounds 7 & 8 had already taken place prior to the completion of the weather delayed round 6 and Neil still had to win the race to secure the title. Hot on his tail were big names such as Graham Alsop, David Crompton, Darren Bloomfield and Jon Hazelwood who were all in with a chance of stealing the title should Neil slip up. After a series of breakages and crashes destroyed Neil's chances at the IFMAR 1/8th World Championship in North Carolina the gods of RC were on his side for this race. A Bloomfield crash in the final stages gave Neil the edge and with Crompton's Crono RS7GR suffering breakages it was up to Neil to drive his RC8 home for the round and series win. Well done to Neil for all his hard work this year. With the 2008 European electric 2WD and 4WD titles already under his belt this second consecutive 1/8th Off-Road National title proves that Neil really is at the top of his game. Also a big congratulations to CML driver John Howells who won the Clubman Championship with his Picco powered HoBao Hyper 8.5 Pro.
