BRCA Young Guns Junior Championships

CML driver Tom Watts wins the under 17 BRCA Young Guns Junior Championship - 27 turn.

The new venue for the BRCA Junior 1/10th Touring Car Championship proved a popular choice with over 90 "Young Guns" attending the Bedworth RCC track and in spite of the miserable weather on the Sunday nearly all of them managed to survive the rain to run both finals. CML driver Tom Watts had a particularly good weekend. Transferring his old TC4 setup onto the Associated TC5 required only a few minor adjustment to get the car dialled on the sunny Saturday practice. Sunday however, was wet, but The TC5 proved to be just as good in the wet as it was in the dry and even though he lost a receiver to the damp in qualifying Tom still managed pole position in the under 17 27 turn class. With a spare receiver fitted he went on to win both finals. A very satisfying result on the only his third outing with the new TC5. Even though the rain tried to spoil things the event was a great success due in no small part to the efforts of the BRCA committee and the Bedworth Club. If you are young enough, put this event in your diary for next year, it is going to be even better.
