BRCA Touring gets off to a great start
The first round of the UK BRCA Touring nationals took place at the ultra fast Tibshelf circuit over the weekend. With good weather and a good number of racers it made for some very fast racing.
After qualifying it was Team Magic driver Darren Johnson who took TQ, with a stunning new track record, followed by Steve Brown , Chris Slater and Mark Green. Stephen Lander also made the A final with his G4S.
After a clean start to the final, Steve Brown took the lead, followed by Darren, Chris and Mark. Darren managed to get by Steve on the fast sweeper, and started to pull away a little. Darren held the lead until after 22 minutes when he made a mistake which resulted in retirement, which was a real shame as he had a lead of nearly 2 laps ! After this Mark Green and Chris Slater had a very close battle for the win, with Mark taking the win from Chris and Steve Brown in third.
Once again the Team Magic G4S, proved to be the fastest chassis on the track with the quickest laps in both qualifying and the final.
