BRCA: Shrewsbury

Round 7 of the BRCA rallycross championship was held at a new venue to the series at Rodington, East Shrewsbury. The grass track was very fast and featured 2 man made wooden jumps that proved difficult to negotiate.

Round 1 saw RB/Proline/Byron sponsored David Crompton take the round win, with Jon Hazelwood in second with his Byron fuelled car. Round 2 was taken by another Byron fuelled car, that of Jamie Booth with Jon Hazelwood again in second. In round 3 Neil Cragg showed everyone what he was capable of with a convincing round win with his RB/Proline/Byron powered Ho Bao Hyper 8 car. Neil had had some problems in the earlier rounds of qualifying, and this round win was only good enough to put him the 'D' final. This meant that Neil had alot of racing in front of him to try and make the main final. Neil did indeed make his way to the 'A' final by winning all three finals on the way. Ho Bao cars once again filled four of the places in the main final, with Graham Alsop, John Holmes and Paul Bradby all making the final. The main final saw Jamie Booth take the win with a lights to flag drive, Jon Hazelwood was second and Karl Jackson third. Neil had got up to third and was closing in on Jon but a bad refuel saw him not receive a full tank and stop out on circiut, despite this he managed to fight back to 7th. This victory for Jamie meant that Byron Fuels have so far one every round of the 2006 BRCA championship.
