BRCA: Preston

The Preston club was the host for round 8 of the BRCA Rallycross championships. The track was an extremely bumpy grass track with a short astroturf section toward the end of the lap.

Every driver was struggling to put together a clean run in qualifying and the times reflected this, drivers were losing big chunks of time but still able to post decent round scores. Round 1 saw Karl Jackson take the round with a run that was just less mistakes than others. In Round 2 Neil Cragg adopted the same idea and drove round carefully to take the round win, one second in front of Ho Bao team mate Dave Bailey. Neil did not really enjoy the experience however he commented "I felt like I was going about 5 seconds a lap off the pace yet still won the round, this is not really racing is it!" Dave Crompton won Round 3 and took TQ for the overall meeting with his RB/Proline/Byron sponsored Crono car with Neil Cragg 2nd with his RB/Proline/Byron Ho Bao Hyper 8. The final saw a close race between Dave Crompton and Steve Childerhouse who had bumped up from the B final and was making good use of the extra 20 mins track time. Eventually Dave came out on top to keep the 100% Byron fuel record for the season in tact with championship rival Jon Hazelwood pushing his way up to second.
