BRCA 1/10th Off Road National News

The first round of the BRCA 1/10th Off Road National was held at the popular Stotfold venue.

The all astro-turf track gives high levels of grip when the sun is out and thankfully the racers were blessed with good weather to start the season. This was the first real test for the prototype Centro C4.1 mid-motored 2wd buggy. Using the hugely successful Associated B4.1 for donor parts Tom Yardy and Neil Cragg had the job of seeing just how the cars fared in the heat of competition. Excellently was the answer, with Tom qualifying third overall including taking top spot in the final round and Neil taking fifth overall. Neil?s car was a slightly older development model and he had only driven a few laps prior to this meeting but proved to be instantly on the pace. With the three legs of the A final done and dusted, Tom took a fine second place behind last years Champion, although Tom felt he might have done even better. Neil lost out a little in the heat of battle but still finished a creditable sixth overall. Rest assured CML are working as fast as they can to get the finished conversion out to the racers.
