Bickerstaff takes Scottish GP victory

CML and Team Associated driver Alan Bickerstaff continues to enjoy success with his TC5R and another dominating performance!

The annual Scottish Indoor Grand prix took place on the 7th and 8th feb with wins in both the stock and main pro stock events for with his Reedy/Novak powered TC5R. The Dunfermline District Model Car Club again hosted the event but this year on rubber tyres as opposed to the previous foam classes ran in Scotland. The track at Dunfermline District Model Car Club. Along with the change to rubber tyres, this year there was a ?warm up? stock / 13.5 event on the Saturday which gave drivers a chance to settle into the track and allowed the traction to build up on the carpets racing line as the rubber / additive began to show. Bickerstaff took FTQ after the 4 rounds of qualifying before a clean win in the single main final. By Sunday concentration for the drivers had shifted to the main pro stock event. Small changes in set-ups were made to adjust to the increased traction level and the increased speed over the Saturday runs and again Alan secured the FTQ and lined up on pole for the 3 leg finals. After the second leg the trophies for GP winner 2009 were set to cross the Irish with the Northern Irish driver thanks to wins in both legs. A win in the 3rd leg also finished off Alan?s weekend in style! A triumphant Alan collect his trophy.
