Associated Young Gun takes FTD at BTCC

Stafford was the venue for round five of the British Touring Car Championship and once again poor weather affected a major UK touring car race, but the weather did not dampen the performance of young Zak Smith who was on fine form with his Associated TC5. The TC5 driver was looking quick in qualifying and put his car on pole for the two leg A final. Leg one saw Zak take the win and set himself up for the overall victory, but fourth in the second final saw Zak finish second overall. This is his the second time Zak has finished in second place at a BTCC round and shows his continuing run of good form. The next big meeting for Zak is the BRCA Juniors on 9th August. Zak will join his Associated touring car team mates for the next round of the national series at Snetterton, Currently after three rounds of the national series Zak is just outside the top ten overall in eleventh and second in F3.
