Associated TC7 Debut Victory

The first event of 2016 took place this weekend, as Rug Racers hosted the third round of their winter championship.

After months of successful testing with prototype parts, Chris Grainger received his production Associated TC7 kit during the Christmas break, and chose Rug Racers as the first big event to debut it at.

Chris was quickly up to speed with the new chassis, despite having no testing with the car prior to the event.  As qualifying went on, he improved laptimes and consistency with every run, which netted him a solid position in the top half of the A Final grid, up against some strong competition - including many national A Final drivers.

In the finals, Chris used his vast experience to continue to fine tune his TC7's setup.  Making the car consistent was the key, such that he was able to put himself in a strong position to capitalise on any mistakes from the cars ahead of him.  After two tough legs of racing, Chris's consistency and high speed of the new TC7 was more than enough to net the pairing the overall victory, the first major win for the production version of the TC7.

Associated TC7 victory.
