Associated and Yokomo take podium positions at Bedworth

The latest round of the Super-Stock Championship took the 19t drivers to Bedworth, and with the weather forecast right for once there was no practice on the Saturday due to a soaking wet track.

Sunday started damp and with a fair breeze blowing it was a mixed blessing, the wind dried the track but also continually brought showers throughout the day. All three rounds of qualifying meant difficult choices for the drivers with the track never fully dry. Some drivers choosing the RP30 slick tyres, and the others going for the Pit Shimizu treaded 'wet' tyre. At the end of qualifying, CML and Microtech Racing driver Keith Robertson placed his new Associated TC5 in a firm 5th place on the grid with a steady run, and team-mate Stuart Cann again joining Keith in the A final just a couple of places behind with his Yokomo BD. Both drivers having plenty of go with their SMC and Checkpoint powered cars. Tyre choice wasn't a problem for the first final ? it was full on wet! After a driving error at the start, Keith found his TC5 hooked up on the wet track coming through the field for a fine second place behind Dewi Jones. Into the second leg and it was Stuart's turn to shine on the drying track as he worked his way up to second and held off the pressure from behind to take second place ? again behind Dewi Jones. In the overall results this gave Stuart third place with Keith just behind in fourth. In the title battle, Keith has moved back into second as he chases down the leader. This being only his second time on track with the TC5, it again proved it to be easy to drive and competitive is all conditions. 19T Super Stock Results
