Another strong showing for Yokomo and Checkpoint

Round 2 of the BRCA 19t championship took the drivers to the popular West London Race Centre, and usual for the bit events ? it was the full ?GP? track layout in use.

With plenty of strong local drivers, the competition for A final places would be high. The sun came out mid-morning and to everyone?s delight stayed out for the rest of the day. CML / Microtech Racing driver Keith Robertson put in a good show during qualifying with his Yokomo BD ? placing 4th on the grid only a couple of seconds away from pole! Team-mate Stuart Cann showed the BD was well on the pace in 5th, just behind him ? the Checkpoint Money motors once again proving fast. Joining them in the A final was Associated driver Anthony Potter, doing well having being unable to attend the practice day. The finals were a mixed bag. In the first leg, it was close racing, with Keith finishing 4th having pushed all race for the final podium spot, whilst Stuart had an issue and dropped out. In the second leg it was Keith?s turn for bad luck as his car was hit on the first lap ? losing lots of time. Stuart however put in a storming drive to finish a fine 2nd place just off the winner. This meant the Yokomo drivers finished ?line-astern? in fourth and fifth overall. Stuart Cann's BD
